Holiday Shopping

I figured it out!

Have you read all of the tips and tricks for holiday shopping? How many times have you read…don’t overspend and as soon as you click off of that article, up pops all the things you NEED to buy this holiday season?

Yes, more shopping is done between Thanksgiving and December 31 than any other 1 month period the rest of the year—part of how we got the term Black Friday.

Yes, so many shoppers will end up with a financial hangover when they get their credit card statements in January—but never fear since we can use our tax return to pay it off, right?

I’m pretty sure that a solution is CASH…that green stuff that can fit in your wallet, and those coins that make a jingle sound in your pocket. If we use CASH for all of our holiday shopping, then it’s less likely that we’ll overspend.

Consider this: you head to the ATM or bank and take out CASH that you have in your account (not all of it, of course) to purchase your holiday items—food, fun, gifts, etc!

When using the CASH, you’re more likely to think about this:

C – Compare prices before buying

A – Assess and adjust your needs/wants within the budget you’ve preset

S – Search for better discounts, deals and alternatives when necessary

H – Hunt for just the right item for that special occasion

If you must shop online, consider a debit card that is preloaded with your budget so that you don’t bust it!
